This introduction to Prevent, Teach, Reinforce for Families will provide prospective team members with the key elements of functional behavior assessment and positive behavior support planning. It will clarify the roles of family members and staff as they work together to identify a child's behavioral needs and plan for individualized behavior support in the home and community.

Objectives

Participants will:

  • List key elements of the principles of behavior to making decisions about behavioral support.
  • Describe steps and process of Prevent Teach Reinforce for Families (PTR-F)
  • Identify the roles and tasks of team members with each step in the PTR-F process

Target Audience

This session is appropriate for EI and EC providers, family support staff, and family members who care for young children who may be in need of behavioral intervention.
