This session supports practitioners in becoming fully aware of the latest special education policies and fully prepared to begin the 2021-22 year in a virtual or hybrid learning environment. Presenters will share considerations, strategies, and resources for a successful transition into the new academic year.

Objectives

Participants Will:

  • Identify policies and procedures for supporting students with disabilities in virtual and hybrid environments, set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Bureau of Special Education.
  • Access and describe the educational resources provided by PaTTAN for use in the support of students with disabilities in virtual and hybrid environments.
  • Describe knowledge of evidence-based strategies and practices for use in the support of students with disabilities in virtual and hybrid environments.

Target Audience

General and Special Education Teachers, School Psychologist, Physical Therapist, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Behavior Specialist, Special Education Administrators, Principals, other administrators. Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate individuals who have special needs as addressed by the Americans with Disabilities Act and who need assistance at this event.
