This discussion will focus on teaching practices for learners who are visually impaired and working on self-determination and/or self-advocacy skills to prepare students after high school (post-secondary).
Participants will be able to:
- Explain the importance of self-advocacy/self-determination instruction to prepare students for post-secondary transition.
- Identify three or more resources that can help support instruction of self-advocacy and self-determination.
- Describe how self-determination and self-advocacy instruction can empower visually impaired students after they graduate.
