In this session, we will review general guidelines for teaching and address how to refine teaching strategies to increase intentional instruction and/or practice for children with more intensive needs related to social development. Participants will self-identify practices they wish to strengthen in their work, both in classrooms and in supporting other adults.

Objectives

Participants will:

  • Identify the key components of planning effective social emotional instruction.
  • Complete self-assessment of skills that support effective instruction of social emotional skills.
  • Practice developing teaching matrix for embedding targeted social emotional instruction for a specific child.
