Young children's social-emotional development influences their academic and social success later in life. Caring and supportive relationships provide young children with a sense of comfort, safety, and confidence. This session will identify strategies that adults can use to support healthy social-emotional development in young children.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Identify how social-emotional development unfolds in the first five years of life.
- Identify areas of the brain involved in social interactions and emotional interactions.
- Identify strategies to support the development of social-emotional skills in young children.
Target Audience
This training is intended for Early Intervention service personnel/providers, early childhood education professionals, and parents.
