The training will offer an overview of the Charting the LifeCourse Principles & Framework. Participants will benefit from understanding the foundations of Supporting Families across the LifeSpan and Charting the LifeCourse as well as how to apply these to support competitive, integrated employment outcomes for transition age youth. The presenters will explain why the framework is important, highlight ways that it is already being used within the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP), and further discuss ways these tools can be used by all.


Objectives

Explain the origin and purpose of the National Community of Practice: Supporting Families throughout the Lifespan
Describe the nature of Pennsylvania’s Office of Developmental Program’s Intent of Supporting Families
Conceptualize and apply the LifeCourse Principles in a variety of settings
Communicate the relationship of the LifeCourse Framework and how to embed it in policies and practices
Explore uses of the LifeCourse tools and how to utilize them

Target Audience

Parents, teachers, paraprofessionals working in schools or educational settings, school counselors, supports coordinators, managed care organizations, and community partners
