Prevent Teach Reinforce for Families (PTR-F) is a detailed model and research-based strategy for helping families to resolve their children's serious challenging behaviors in home and community settings. These sessions are meant to prepare participants to facilitate the PTR-F process with a family, utilizing forms and fidelity checklists to guide the process.

Objectives

Participants will:

  1. Apply key elements of the principles of behavior to making decisions about behavioral support.
  2. Describe steps and process of Prevent Teach Reinforce for Families (PTR-F)
  3. Create individualized behavior plans, assess fidelity and use data to monitor progress and define next steps utilizing the PTR-F process.

Target Audience

This training is for Early Intervention staff who lead the process of completing functional behavior assessments and facilitating the development and implementation of individualized behavior support plans with families. Participants should have an understanding of behavior contingencies (ABC) and basic principles of the function of behavior.
