This session will follow the PTR-YC manualized approach to provide participants with strategies to facilitate the PTR process, from assembling the team, through forming a hypothesis about the function of the child’s behavior, and to developing a behavior intervention plan. his session will prepare participants to facilitate the PTR-YC process with a team, utilizing forms and fidelity checklists to guide the process.
Objectives
Participants will:
- List and apply key elements of the principles of behavior to making decisions about behavioral support.
- Identify and describe steps and the process of Prevent Teach Reinforce for Young Children (PTR-YC).
- Create individualized behavior plans, assess fidelity and use data to monitor progress, and define next steps utilizing the PTR-YC process.
Target Audience
This training is for Early Intervention staff and early childhood staff who lead the process of completing functional behavior assessments and facilitating the development and implementation of individualized behavior support plans. Participants should have an understanding of behavior contingencies and basic principles of the function of behavior.
