School psychologists systematically collect data from multiple sources as a foundation for decision making at the individual, group, and systems levels. They implement evidence-based strategies to enhance services in both general and special education and to address potential influences related to diversity. In this session, school psychologists will have the opportunity to engage in the complex task of matching instructional and intervention approaches based upon data at the systems, group, and individual student level with a focus on mathematics in a multi-tiered system of supports.

Objectives:

Participants will:

• Identify strategies to systematically collect data with an instructional focus on mathematics in an MTSS.
• Develop a problem-solving framework to implement strategies and address issues, based on potential influences, related to diversity.
• Identify two ways school psychologists can act as change agents for students regarding MTSS Tiers and mathematics instruction geared to the individual student level.
