To further assist in our instructional efforts, this session will feature tips, tools, and strategies to provide multiple means of engagement in virtual learning environments, focusing specifically on effort and persistence (UDL guideline 8).

Objectives

Participants will:

  • Identify policies and procedures for supporting students with disabilities in virtual environments, set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Bureau of Special Education
  • Access and describe the educational resources provided by PaTTAN for use in the support of students with disabilities in virtual environments.
  • Describe evidence-based strategies and practices for use in the support of students with disabilities in virtual environments

Target Audience

General and Special Education Teachers, School Psychologist, Physical Therapist, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Behavior Specialist, Special Education Administrators, Principals, other administrators. Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate individuals who have special needs as addressed by the Americans with Disabilities Act and who need assistance at this event.
