The UDL framework (udlguidelines.cast.org) focuses on providing multiple means of representation, action and expression, and engagement to reduce barriers and increase access to the curriculum for students with and without disabilities. Consider how to make the most of web-based tools, apps, and multimodal environments as you design online learning experiences. This training will highlight how digital tools along with instructional strategies can support students with disabilities with common challenges in the areas of academics, executive function, and learning behaviors/engagement in the online environment.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Identify policies and procedures for supporting students with disabilities in virtual environments, set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Bureau of Special Education
- Access and describe the educational resources provided by PaTTAN for use in the support of students with disabilities in virtual environments
- Display knowledge of evidence-based strategies and practices for use in the support of students with disabilities in virtual environments
Target Audience
General and Special Education Teachers, School Psychologist, Physical Therapist, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Behavior Specialist, Special Education Administrators, Principals, other administrators.
