Learning to make friends, regulating one’s own emotions, and getting along with others have a powerful impact on our ability to develop and sustain relationships. This series will provide an overview of the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) core competencies of social emotional learning (SEL). CASEL aligns with the Early Learning Standards, classroom practices and provides structure to connect SEL assessments with intentional SEL instruction. The CASEL also aligns with the Pyramid Model Practices. This systemic approach to SEL intentionally cultivates a caring, participatory, and equitable learning environment and evidence-based practices that actively involve all children in their social and emotional growth and school readiness skills (CASEL website). Learn about the CASEL Competencies and how to build them into your daily interactions and routines.
