This professional learning program engages Intermediate Unit (IU) STEM PoCS and TAC in a “train the trainer” model to support local implementation of the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) CSinPA K-8 Virtual Pathway professional learning program.
The CSinPA K-8 Virtual Pathway aims to increase the capacity for CS learning in K-8 educators in support of the goal to expand computer science access and engagement for all K-8 students. The Pathway is delivered as a virtual model with cohorts hosted locally by IUs. The Pathway supports K-8 educators involved with CS instruction, whether as stand-alone classes or by integrating CS concepts and practices into other content-area instruction.
Objectives
Participants will be able to:
Identify statewide goals for CS education in Pennsylvania.
Articulate the goals and objectives of the CSinPA K-8 Virtual Pathway.
Prepare for and implement a local cohort of the CSinPA K-8 Virtual Pathway.
Target Audience
PA Intermediate Unit STEM PoCs and TAC members
