This session is designed to provide an introduction and overview to secondary ELA teachers, special education teachers, administrators and curriculum directors regarding the importance and impact of consistently using a common set of before, during, and after reading strategies and instructional routines. Emphasis is included regarding the development of fidelity through peer collaboration and use.
Participants will be able to:
- explain the value of using a consistent set of before, during and after reading strategies in classrooms
- to describe a process for sustaining strategy use through a department-level focus.
- provide a rationale for a school-wide consistency of strategy use.
