Orientation and Mobility Certification Test Preparation Modules

This series is designed to prepare university trained Orientation & Mobility (O&M) specialists for the national examination for O&M certification through the Academy for Certification of Vision and Educational Professionals (ACVREP). Each training will focus on one to two testing domains. Prior to each scheduled training, participants will read recommended references and complete the study guide questions per assigned Module(s). Through guided discussions during the training, participants will share their answers to the completed study guide and gain a deeper understanding of the content of each testing domain. PaTTAN has secured 30 vouchers to be individually issued to gain access to the online O&M study guide, sample items, and practice exam. Registration is limited to 30 total participants. Preference will be given to professionals who live and work in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania residents will be able to access the ACVREP test preparation materials at no cost. Out-of-state requests will be wait-listed until the close of registration, on February 20, 2017, and will be required to pay $25.00 (make checks payable to MCIU) to access to the online study guide and practice exam. Once registered, participants will receive an individual ACVREP study guide voucher and be provided with the complete reference list, in order to gather the necessary textbooks and journal articles prior to the start of the webinar series. Please be advised: securing the correct publication dates/editions is critical to review and reference the most up-to-date resources. Participants are encouraged to review the steps to COMS certification and to gather/organize the required documentation needed to apply to be eligible for testing.
