Participants will learn about legal requirements, the development, implementation, and monitoring of ESL programs, as well as the accountability measures, as specified by the PA Department of Education.

Objectives

  • Identify and apply legal requirements as related to the education of English language learners
  • Identify and apply best ESL programmatic practices.
  • Examine and implement multiple measures of assessment and accountability for English language learners in multi-tiered systems of support.

Target Audience

ESL Teachers, ESL Administrators, Content Teachers, Special Education Teachers, Building Administrators, Counselors

Individuals attending this course must arrive on time and stay the duration of the course in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours. Requests for exceptions are to be brought to the attention of the individual´s Superintendent or IU Director prior to the course.
