RENEW (Rehabilitation for Empowerment, Natural Supports, Education and Work) is a secondary transition model developed by the University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability to support adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges. RENEW is an evidenced-based, intensive (tier 3) intervention strategy that supports at-risk youth at the secondary level design and pursue a plan for transition from school to adult life.

During this training, participants will learn a person-centered planning process that is an integral component to support the academic and behavioral progress of students. Additionally, participants will discuss the importance of action plan development and implementation as well as individualized student team development.

Throughout the three days of training participants will share their person centered maps with their colleagues; discuss ways to partner with families and/or guardians of youth so they can be active members of the youth´s individual team; and share strategies for engaging agency and community partners in aspects of the action plan process.
