During Year 2 of Transition Discoveries (TD): Designing Pathways to Competitive Integrated Employment, the LEA’s Team Champion and when feasible, additional members of the LEA’s T-CAT, will complete a self-guided module within Schoology. The purpose of the module is to learn how to plan and facilitate virtual, face-to-face, or hybrid community action planning event. Through the use of TD’s appreciative inquiry procedures, the team champions and T-CAT members will develop a plan to address their priorities identified during stage 2 with long term goals, short term goals, action steps to achieve the goals, and resources needed for implementation. T-CAT members are taught how to use a comprehensive event implementation/facilitation package with all the necessary materials.
Objectives
At the end of this training, T-CAT members will be able to:
Implement the TD appreciate inquiry process for community action planning, which includes Discovering, Dreaming, Delivering and group shares with incrementally developed group vision boards.
Implement strategies to recruit youth with disabilities, family members and transition stakeholders to participate in the community action planning event.
Implement strategies to support the active and equitable participation of youth with disabilities, family members and transition stakeholders during each step of the community action planning event.
