Workplace conflict stifles communication and productivity. At its worst, tensions escalate to aggression and constant negativity. That’s why it’s important to address conflict quickly. This course will define common sources of conflict, typical responses to it, and techniques to resolve conflict, address anger, and stop negative behavior. Differences between teammates demonstrates a positive diversity of strengths and ideas. Learning to bridge contrasting perspectives with empathy and understanding are key to your Early Intervention (EI) and Home Visiting program’s productivity and effectiveness.


Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Define 6 steps to mediate conflict between employees in the context of supporting professionals in Early Intervention and Home Visiting.
  • Identify and describe common causes of conflict in the workplace.
  • Facilitate situations effectively with frustrated or angry people.
  • Apply conflict resolution tips and techniques within Early Intervention and Home Visiting programs.

Early Intervention Infant/Toddler professionals, Early Intervention Preschool professionals, and Home Visiting Programs/Family Center professionals
