This series will provide in-depth knowledge and practice in the science of reading as it relates to early literacy intervention and the prevention of early reading difficulties, including dyslexia.


The series will provide the requisite knowledge and skills needed to effectively teach students to read in the early grades. The big ideas of reading will be a central focus. Those big ideas include: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and oral language. Effective instructional routines are also offered in this series to bridge research to practice.


At the completion of this series, participants will demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills needed to effectively participate in Pennsylvania’s Dyslexia Pilot Expansion Project.
