Team leaders will review current team and program level BrainSTEPS data to inform the team goals for the current school year. Team leaders will also use currently available PA Department of Health TBI hospitalization discharge data by county to compare and contrast the number of students with moderate to severe TBI who are referred to their BrainSTEPS team each year. Leaders will devise ways to increase partnerships with their local medical and rehabilitation facilities to increase referral rates for moderate to severe TBI. Current findings from the Centers for Disease Control ongoing STATBI study will be shared with team leaders by the Principal Investigator. The new BrainSTEPS website will be reviewed with team leaders. Additionally, team leaders will learn about, and how to use, the new online Brain Injury Support Framework (BISF) application with all causes and severities of acquired brain injury. Guided practice in using the BISF will also be provided.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

• Describe the importance of using the new online Brain Injury Supports Framework for student referrals.
• Identify ways that your BrainSTEPS team can increase referrals for students with moderate to severe TBI.
• Describe the current data findings from the STATBI study from the Centers for Disease Control.
