Technology tools alone are not enough to create an educational environment in which all learners can develop the skills they need to become independent, empowered learners. While educational, assistive and everyday technologies can support independence and the achievement of learning outcomes, the application of strategies that embed technology and learner choice is critical to the successful implementation of technology. This two-day professional learning experience will provide assistive technology providers strategies and tools to support reading, writing, math, social-emotional learning, and professional learning and provide opportunities to develop a range of products to use and provide to others after the professional development sessions have concluded.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

• Apply 5 strategies discussed or modeled during the training in their own work with learners or other educators.
• Create 4 products or resources that can be used with learners or other educators to support meaningful and inclusive learning experiences.
• Identify 3 criteria for providing accessible, inclusive learning experiences for all learners
• Identify 2 ways to collect data to examine the efficacy of the strategies and resources used with learners and educators.

AT Consultants from Intermediate Units and LEAs.
