This workshop will explore the importance of effective family engagement in a successful inclusive early childhood program. Participants will discuss diversity, equity, and cultural competence as core components of high-quality early childhood education programs. Teams will present updates on their action plans and ask their colleagues for suggestions on an issue where they need additional support.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Identify strategies for effective family engagement in early childhood education and early intervention.
- Describe cultural humility and discuss implications for early childhood education and early intervention.
- List three solutions for a proposed scenario regarding a barrier to effective family engagement.
Target Audience
This training is for invited Early Intervention and Early Childhood administrators and staff only.
