Formative assessment is an essential component of effective mathematics instruction. The design, delivery, and analysis of formative assessments and their data allow teachers to adjust instruction and better meet the needs of students. Participants will learn how to apply five formative assessment practices in their core classrooms and how to intensify formative assessment across a multi-tiered system of supports.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- Identify 5 formative assessment practice for core instruction
- Intensify observations and data collection procedures for tiered supports
- Design and deliver a diagnostic interview
Target Audience
Building Principal, General Education Teacher, Special Education Teacher, School Psychologist, Speech/Language Therapist, Reading Specialist, ESL Teacher, School Counselor, Academic/Instructional and PBIS Coach, Family/Parent Representative, IU Consultant Support (Academic and Behavioral Expertise), MTSS Coordinator
