PaTTAN - CENTRAL Google Maps

Session Dates

Wednesday November 20, 2019 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM - PaTTAN - CENTRAL

Closed
This session will follow the PTR-YC manualized approach to provide participants with strategies to facilitate the first half of the PTR process, from assembling the team through forming a hypothesis about the function of the child’s behavior. This session will prepare participants to facilitate the PTR-YC process with a team, utilizing forms and fidelity checklists to guide the process. To reinforce application of the PTR-YC process, participants will then have an opportunity to practice leading their own teams.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Create a behavior assessment and support team with staff and families
  • Create a data collection system to measure target behavior
  • Complete assessment of universal classroom practices and function of behavior

Target Audience

This training is for Early Intervention staff and early childhood staff who lead the process of completing functional behavior assessments and facilitating the development and implementation of individualized behavior support plans.

Topics Covered: Early Intervention

Additional Info

Participants should have an understanding of behavior contingencies (ABC) and basic principles of the function of behavior.  Participants will be expected to attend two sessions, the second occurring approximately six weeks later to allow for application of the steps described in session one.  Each participant must bring a copy of the book and a printed set of the PTR-YC forms (found within the book) to the training sessions.  The book, Prevent Teach Reinforce for Young Children, is published by Brookes Publishing and available from many booksellers.
