MTSS Integration Series: Enhancing Student Engagement for ALL Learners at the Classroom Level
Foundations of Integrated Tiered Systems:Academic, Behavioral and Social Emotional Needs of Students
Session Dates
Tuesday September 24, 2019 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM - PaTTAN - CENTRAL
Closed
Every academic outcome that we hope students will achieve is comprised of three elements: academic skills, academic “behaviors” and social emotional factors that influence student engagement and ownership. This session will focus on evidence-based practices that integrate these elements into the delivery of classroom instruction and student performance within a multi-tiered system. Each team will “build” their integrated system progressively throughout the day by reflecting on their existing practices in the context of the practices presented during this session.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- Identify effective teaching strategies designed to engage diverse learners and improve rates of growth.
- Identify strategic behavior supports that increase student engagement and are related to improved student outcomes.
- List the four primary approaches to integrating social emotional learning into classroom instruction.
- Create an initial outline for how their team will approach and implement their integrated model.
