Participants will review formative assessment measures that are designed for diverse learners but may be used with all students. Teachers will learn how to assess reading comprehension levels to inform instructional intensity through effective instructional practices.

Objectives:

Participants will be able to….

  • Describe the purpose of formative assessment, particularly as it applies to students with diverse learning needs
  • Use tool to interpret student knowledge of grammatical structures and broader reading comprehension skill development and growth
  • Use tool to identify student needs and make instruction more explicit
