This workshop will examine tools used to facilitate a successful consultation between an early intervention service provider and an early childhood educator. Participants will review their baseline results of the Inclusive Classroom Profile (ICP) and develop an action plan to make enhancements to their inclusive practices. A matrix planning model that assists partner teachers in seeing opportunities for instruction or intervention and providing them with the information and skills that they will need to address these learning opportunities will be utilized.

Objectives

Participants will:

  1. Develop an action plan based upon individual results of the Inclusive Classroom Profile observation tool.
  2. Identify consultation strategies that will assist early childhood educators to support children with disabilities in their classrooms.
  3. Complete a curriculum matrix that is useful in identifying opportunities to address children’s IFSP or IEP objectives within the context of children’s daily routines and activities.

This training is for invited Early Intervention and Early Childhood administrators and staff only.
