Participants will briefly review MTSS conceptual highlights, as they relate to the use of RTI for SLD Determination. The review will include research, policy and practice updates within the context of tiered systems and frequently asked questions about responsiveness and SLD identification. One of PA’s RTI/SLD approved teams will discuss their process for getting approved by BSE to use RTI for SLD determination. Lastly, participants will assess their own strengths and needs using PaTTAN’s MTSS Fidelity Tool.

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify areas that align with best practice, research and policy regarding the use of the RTI approach/assessment process
  • Describe characteristics of process and practice associated with the RTI/SLD approval process
  • Use a fidelity tool to identify evidence of fidelity of implementation across MTSS Framework Components
