Due to the persistent obstacles for children just learning to read and those who are at-risk for reading failure, it is imperative that teachers select the most appropriate text tools for instruction. This training provides practitioners with necessary foundational knowledge in text type selection for instructional impact.

Participants will be able to:

  • List features of leveled text
  • Describe features of decodable text
  • Explain the rationale behind text type selection
