Through the use of an instructional tool, such as a sound wall, students learn to organize words by place and manner of articulation of speech sounds. This training will provide participants with the knowledge base of the importance of articulation and pronunciation and the direct connection between phoneme and grapheme instruction at the K-2 level, while enabling the participants professional development skill set in order to deliver such content.

Participants will be able to:

  • List the features, place, and manner of articulation for consonant sounds.
  • List the features, place, and manner of articulation for vowel sounds.
  • Compare and contrast the features of a word wall to a sound wall.
