This training was specifically designed to support providers to increase their understanding and success of working through the functional behavior experience with the use of the Prevent, Teach, Reinforce for Families model, as described in the book by the same title. Participants are expected to have this book available to use during the training.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Define “Challenging Behaviors”
  • Identify ways to partner with families in understanding and addressing “challenging behaviors” and support families through the PTR-F process
  • Describe and use the PTR-F process for developing and implementing a behavior support plan
  • Locate and describe all PTR-F tools for implementation
  • Discuss coaching/supporting families to implement and make data driven decisions using PTR

Early Interventionists, Service Coordinators, Program Coordinators, Administrators, Families, Behavior Consultants, Psychologists, ECE, Early Intervention SLPS, OTs, PTs, particularly those who provide services in family homes
