The Supervisors Retreat day, Deaf Hard of Hearing for Administrators, is designed for supervisors of hearing professionals. It will address specific needs to operate successful hearing programs. The event will focus on content current to the field of deaf education. Sessions will target impact of hearing loss on a student's access to the curriculum and their environment, and specific practices and qualifications unique to the role of the teacher of the deaf. In addition, solutions for Unique Situations in Deaf Education will be covered.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
1. Describe the impact of hearing loss on a student's access to the curriculum and their environment
2. Identify the specific practices and qualifications unique to the role of the teacher of the deaf
3. List 3 common causes of deafness
