58. Diversity Made Simple: Practical Strategies for Shame-Free Allyship
Session Dates
Friday March 03, 2023 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM - Webinar

Too often professionals see a need for social change and have a desire to help, but conclude that because they don’t share the same societal struggles as those in need, their help would not be welcomed or may even make things worse. As a result, less help is provided, and ongoing needs go unmet. This training will provide a reasonable and attainable goal for allyship that includes a foundation of healthy self-confidence (that isn’t over-inflated or self-deprecating), practical strategies for communicating cultural awareness along with an openness to learn, as well as strategies for utilizing earned and unearned privileges for cross-cultural benefit.
Target Audience
General education and special education administrators and teachers, paraprofessionals, school psychologists, professional development staff, and families of students with disabilities are encouraged to attend.
Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate individuals who have special needs as addressed by the Americans with Disabilities Act and who need assistance at this event. Contact: Debra Jordan, at [(610) 878-7224, or
