Session Dates

Thursday March 02, 2023 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM - Webinar

Student voice can best be defined as “students and adults sharing decision-making power, playing the roles of both teacher and learner, and viewing each other as assets and resources.” Students engaged in ongoing, meaningful discourse with adults about critical issues pertaining to the improvement of their school benefits both the students and the adults. In short, students benefit because they become a part of something larger and adults benefit because the youth bring fresh perspectives to school topics and concerns. We are all keenly aware of the need to place an intense focus on the mental health/wellness of our youth given the need that has grown exponentially over the last two years. Much can be learned from engaging students in these efforts. This session will highlight different examples of students supporting students specific to mental health and wellness needs. It will feature students talking about ways they have been involved with mental wellness supports and the impact it has made.
