25. When is Choice, Choice?
Session Dates
Thursday March 02, 2023 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM - Webinar

A phrase often associated with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is “student voice and choice.” Unfortunately, some believe that by adding choice, you are “doing” UDL and that all examples of choice align with UDL. This session will offer participants the purpose of choice, some indicators teachers can use when determining options to activate choice, and time for participants to analyze current and/or future lesson/learning environment designs to find ways to offer the kind of choice that leads to student autonomy and self-determination.
Target Audience
General education and special education administrators and teachers, paraprofessionals, school psychologists, professional development staff, and families of students with disabilities are encouraged to attend.
Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate individuals who have special needs as addressed by the Americans with Disabilities Act and who need assistance at this event. Contact: Debra Jordan, at [(610) 878-7224, or
