This workshop will help educators and school mental health professionals better understand how grief and loss can impact academic achievement and social-emotional functioning. The differences between typical and complicated grief and the different ways of processing grief will be discussed. Individual, small group, and classroom interventions will be highlighted with a specific focus on trauma informed care and schools.
Target Audience
General education and special education administrators and teachers, paraprofessionals, school psychologists, professional development staff, and families of students with disabilities are encouraged to attend.
