20. Interventions for Improving Word Problem Performance of Students with Mathematics Difficulties
Session Dates
Thursday March 02, 2023 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM - Hershey Lodge and Convention Center
Closed
Word problem solving continues to be challenging for students with mathematics difficulties, such as students with and at risk for learning disabilities. Research shows that teachers can use effective mathematics interventions and strategies to help these students successfully solve word problems. This session will focus on supporting teachers in implementing Schema-Based Instruction (SBI), an empirically validated approach, to enhance the mathematical word problem-solving performance of students with mathematics difficulties.
Target Audience
General education and special education administrators and teachers, paraprofessionals, school psychologists, professional development staff, and families of students with disabilities are encouraged to attend.
Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate individuals who have special needs as addressed by the Americans with Disabilities Act and who need assistance at this event. Contact: Debra Jordan at (610) 878-7224 or
