21. Literacy for Late Phase II and Phase III Students with CVI

During this session, attendees will gain a better understanding of how to modify literacy materials so that they are accessible to students with CVI who visually function in late Phase II and Phase III on The CVI Range. A variety of literacy materials will be shared during this session.
Participants will be able to:
- Identify and discuss the necessary components which will create a high-quality literacy program that is visually accessible for a student who visually functions in late Phase II and Phase III on The CVI Range.
- Describe why teaching salient features as a core instructional strategy is important for a student with CVI.
- Identify at least 3 different ways images might be presented and discuss which format might be easiest to interpret for the student with CVI.

Teachers, administrators, speech language pathologists, related service providers, consultants, training and consulting staff, paraprofessionals, family members
