There is a dire need to improve the educational experience of minoritized students to ensure equitable outcomes for students in schools. As a result, educators are encouraged to center social-emotional support within academic learning to improve the outcomes for students, particularly minoritized students. Classrooms that are designed to promote students’ academic growth and social-emotional development better support students’ learning and development. Therefore, this session will discuss conceptual and practical ways to integrate social-emotional learning into classroom instruction.
