01. Morphological Awareness: What is It? How to Teach It!
Session Dates
Tuesday June 14, 2022 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM - Webinar
Closed
Have you ever paused to consider what it means to teach morphological awareness? And what it looks and sounds like when you are teaching morphological awareness? And how does this instruction differ as students pass through the word recognition phases? Come to this session if you are curious and want to learn more about teaching morphological awareness. Gain a deeper appreciation for how the reading brain integrates morphological awareness to enhance vocabulary, comprehension, oral language skills, spelling, and writing. We will discuss how to consider morpheme awareness across grade levels, through dialect, and how to jump in and learn right along with your students. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation for this instruction and tools they can implement right away with their students. (3-12)
