35. Assessment of Early Literacy Skills in PreK and K: Using Data for Instructional Decision Making

This presentation will provide a description and demonstration of the use of assessment data for making instructional decisions for young children within an MTSS framework. Assessment videos and the interpretation of sample reports will be modeled using data from Acadience Reading PreK: PELI. Participants will have the opportunity to view data and practice making instructional decisions including: a) which students may need additional or different instructional support to reach early literacy outcomes, b) how to group students for instruction, c) what skills to target for instruction, and d) how to determine if students are making adequate progress.

Credits available for this session include: Act 48 clock hours, ASHA, PQAS


Target Audience

PAPBS network facilitators, School and program-wide PBIS coaches, District and school level leadership teams, Regular and Special Educators, including EL and early childhood educators, Behavioral specialists (school counselors, school psychologists), Behavioral and mental health providers, District and state policy makers, Family members and caregivers, SBBH Community of Practice members
