30. Early Language and Literacy Pyramid & Dual Language Learner Supports

This session will explore the OCDEL Early Language and Literacy Pyramid which is a MTSS model that reflects the importance of a solid language and literacy foundation. Practices and strategies will be reviewed within each tier for home visitation and early learning classrooms. Within the targeted tier, resources will be explored that help support dual language learners. Participants will be introduced to the WIDA Early Years framework for providing quality instruction to young multilingual children in early childhood settings.
Credits available for this session include: Act 48 clock hours, ASHA, PQAS
Target Audience
PAPBS network facilitators, School and program-wide PBIS coaches, District and school level leadership teams, Regular and Special Educators, including EL and early childhood educators, Behavioral specialists (school counselors, school psychologists), Behavioral and mental health providers, District and state policy makers, Family members and caregivers, SBBH Community of Practice members
