Wednesday October 17, 2018 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

The program will describe how word-level reading develops and why some students struggle in developing such skills. After understanding the phonological basis of alphabetic writing, participants will learn how to teach word-level reading based upon the research that has yielded the best results, which studies have shown are maintained over time. The goal is to present information that will allow teachers to use the Equipped for Reading Success program and other materials to help students develop skilled, fluent, effortless word-level reading so that their focus in reading can be on comprehension.
