The
SCRIPT (Strategic CSforALL Resource and Implementation Planning Tool) "is a framework to guide teams of district administrators, school leaders, and educators through a series of collaborative visioning, self-assessment and goal-setting exercises to create or expand upon a computer science education implementation plan for their students" (CSforALL).
In collaboration with
CSforALL, PaTTAN has begun a statewide SCRIPT initiative to facilitate the creation of hyper-local Computer Science goals and planning procedures by LEAs. As of December 2021, 70 Intermediate Unit STEM Points of Contacts and TaCs from across the Commonwealth are SCRIPT Facilitators. Between the Intermediate Units and PaTTAN over 200 LEAs have participated in a SCRIPT workshop.

The CSinPA K-8 Virtual Pathway includes 48 hours of professional learning conducted via asynchronous and synchronous online activities. Over the course of the program, participants set goals for expanding CS access for students and develop and share artifacts to demonstrate progress towards their goals.
The Pathway supports K-8 educators involved with CS instruction, whether as stand-alone classes or by integrating CS concepts and practices into other content-area instruction.
Objectives
Educators engaged in the Pathway will:
- Access and use the K-12 Framework and CSTA standards.
- Initiate and reflect on a small-scale implementation pilot.
- Recognize and create a plan to close equity gaps in CS education, specifically for students with disabilities and other historically underrepresented populations, such as students of color and female students.
- Leverage community and stakeholder partnerships.
- Articulate the need for CS in education and our communities.
Fill out this brief form and we'll get in touch to discuss the Pathway and opportunities to join upcoming cohorts.
Any PA 7-12 CS teacher that did not participate in a Targeted Grant 7-12 PDE Pathway is eligible to enroll in a self-paced online course to prepare for the exam. There is no cost to participate and Act 48 credit is available.

CSinPA Build | Fly | Code is an exciting computer science (CS) initiative offered to Pennsylvania educators through a collaboration with PaTTAN, PA Rural Robotics, and For the Win Robotics. This professional learning program empowers educators to engage in and create CS learning experiences using drone technology. CSinPA Build | Fly | Code was thoughtfully designed to be an equitable and accessible learning opportunity for all students, as part of a local education agency’s comprehensive strategic plan for CS education.
CSinPA Build | Fly | Code educators build drones from the ground up, earn their pilot wings through the science of flight, and utilize block-based coding to manipulate the drone’s flight. Educators will develop their CS knowledge and skills, design and implement CS learning experiences with drones in their classes, and explore ways to expand CS opportunities in their schools and communities. Each part of the standards-aligned, universally designed, and culturally relevant CSinPA Build | Fly | Code curriculum is multi-modal and can be used with in-person, hybrid, and virtual instruction.
Applications are currently being accepted and should be submitted by educators who will engage in the program as ambassadors. The ambassador pathway of the CSinPA Build | Fly | Code program is a rewarding and unique opportunity for individuals to develop leadership skills while increasing their capacity as CS educators. A vital member of their LEA CS team, ambassadors build upon their knowledge and insight to serve as leaders and peer mentors for colleagues participating in the program.
