Utilizing The Growing Brain: From Birth to 5 Years Old curriculum, this training will examine the relationship between brain development in the early years and how early communication and cognitive skills unfold. Participants will identify milestones and learn strategies for supporting those developmental areas.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. Identify parts of the brain and their functions.
  2. Identify communication milestones from birth to age 5 years.
  3. Identify strategies for supporting early communication skills.
  4. Identify ways to support cognitive development in young children.

Target Audience

This training is intended for Infant Toddler Early Intervention staff, Preschool Early Intervention staff, and early childhood education professionals.
