Families can play a vital role in the current educational and future life successes of a student who is deaf or hard of hearing.

Families help bridge the gap between what happens at school and what happens at home.  They are part of the full spectrum of growth for the deaf/hard of hearing student; from infancy to adulthood. Families have insight and information to share that can be beneficial for professionals and systems to understand and know about their deaf/hard of hearing student.  They are an important part of the partnership and collaboration with professionals and with the deaf/hard of hearing individual.

PaTTAN provides resources to help all families of students within the special education system be involved and supported throughout the school-age process. Visit our
Parent Information and a Family Engagement pages. PaTTAN also collaborates with Early Intervention Technical Assistance Network to provide information to families with deaf/hard of hearing babies and infants before they enter the school age process. Visit the Early Intervention Technical Assistance (EITA) website.
