Closed
Learn about the final of the five preventative classroom-wide practices that are research-based and promoted by the National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations. During this session, participants will engage in independent reflective work and action planning. Participants will self-assess their own classroom practices and further learn about the use of Peer-Related Social Skills that will decrease challenging behaviors and promote desirable behaviors by all children. Then, participants will build upon what they are already doing to be more intentional and systematic with their implementation of this preventative practice. Lastly, participants will learn about resources to support continued implementation with fidelity. Participants will leave with action steps that can be implemented tomorrow within their own classrooms and they will have access to a Padlet that will provide additional resources to support all children and adults within the classroom while decreasing challenging behaviors.

Objectives

Participants will:

  1. Discuss research to support the implementation of the classroom-wide practice, Directly Teaching Peer-Related Social Skills

  4. Establish a plan for a classroom environment that naturally encourages children to interact with each other
