This Professional Development Instructor Institute (PDII) is designed to provide professional development instructors with the resources and processes to teach early childhood staff to effectively contribute, as part of a team, in functional behavior assessment and behavior planning. Participation in this PDII will specifically assist PW PBIS Facilitators with supporting staff in planning for Tier 3 supports as part of program wide PBIS implementation.
Objectives
This PDII will prepare professional development instructors to teach others to participate as effective team members who:
- Understand the difference between Positive Behavior Support and traditional discipline approaches
- Observe behavior and gather data
- Contribute to determining the function and meaning of behavior
- Participate in developing and monitoring behavior plan
Target Audience
Individuals who attended Center for Social Emotional Foundations of Early Learning (CSEFEL) Module 3 training in March or April 2017 and active PAPBS Early Childhood Facilitators
Individuals attending this course must arrive on time and stay the duration of the course in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours. Requests for exceptions are to be brought to the attention of the individual´s Superintendent or IU Director prior to the course.
