Online Training Modules
PaTTAN is pleased to offer two online training module series designed for Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) interested in building or enhancing positive family-school partnerships at the district or building level. A brief description of the available module series is provided below.
Enhancing Family Engagement:
This series consists of six, independent modules framed by the National Standards for Family-School Partnerships developed by the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA). School teams are encouraged to examine their current practices and procedures as they relate to the overarching concepts of a module.
Supporting Administrators in Navigating Complex Student Issues:
This series consists of three modules – Understanding Special Education Law, Communicating Effectively, and Sharing Information. The modules are designed for building administrators to assist them in developing and enhancing relationships with families.
Each of the online training module series is designed to examine current practices as well as develop and implement improvement strategies designed to support meaningful and authentic family-school partnerships. The training modules contain a wealth of materials and resources designed to provide LEAs with “shelf-ready” training tools to support the development or enhancement of Family Engagement practices through self-directed courses of study. The modules may be completed independently or in groups. The time needed to complete each module is varied, as each module can be individualized to suit the needs of the learner(s).
Accessing the Training Modules:
The family engagement training modules are available on the encour.se online learning platform. To access any of the training modules, create an account on encour.se and then select the Register link from the Login page.
If you are already registered with encour.se, log into your account to enroll in the desired training module(s). If you have not registered, you may do so by clicking on the Register link from the Login page.
Act 48 hours may be available through your employer. Participants are encouraged to discuss options for Act 48 hours with their employer BEFORE completing the online training modules. Employers may require submission of additional documentation in order to receive hours (e.g., evidence of completion of embedded training activities).
